How much is a life worth? And who decides who gets to live and who doesn't? These are some of the questions I have been asking myself all these years, trying to find an answer that could help me understand more easily all that had happened to me. A delicate balance between my past and my present allowed me to become the person I am, but who would I be if I had not been adopted? Adoption changed my life, giving me the chance to be reborn and taking me away from a reality that had nothing suitable for the little girl I was. The opportunity before me would have turned the world I was used to upside down, and I would have had to adapt to new environments, people, and a new culture. Would I forget who I had been before my new life, or would the memories of my past always be with me?
