Mariotto is an ordinary man with an ordinary life. When his wife Mafalda, his one true love, suddenly leaves him, his world is shattered. Mariotto is determined to win her back and refuses to accept the end of their marriage. His attempts soon lead to obsessive behaviour and stalking. During this crisis, Mariotto meets Cinzia, a charming woman who seems to understand him and to whom he feels attracted.
